The MIT Club of San Diego Proudly Presents an Inaugural Gala Dinner

On the evening of Friday May 12th 2017 join illustrious MIT Alumni at the exclusive University Club, gorgeously situated atop Symphony Tower, overlooking Downtown San Diego. The Sunset Reception will give all a chance to renew old acquaintances, make new friends, and chat with our honored speaker, MIT Professor Arnold Barnett. We will then enjoy dinner, followed by an informing and invigorating presentation “The 2016 Presidential Election:  A Statistical Guide to the Perplexed” by Professor Barnett.

Are you a mean dancer? Show your fellow alums after the dinner talk during our Gaussian Random Dance. No need to feel shy: Dancing is deterministically fun and will be aided by games like the Bernoulli mixer and Markov Congo Chain.

Professor Arnold Barnett

Professor Barnett – known to his students as Arnie – has been a Sloan favorite for many years, having been honored 14 times for excellence in teaching. His self-deprecating sense of humor and uncanny ability to explain complex statistical concepts in a simple way have enabled him to do what is nearly impossible – make statistics a student favorite! Come and hear how he explains “The 2016 Presidential Election:  A Statistical Guide to the Perplexed.”

Ticket Prices, per person:
