Last June, three former top executives at Qualcomm, including ex-Chairman and Chief Executive Paul Jacobs, launched a new company to pursue advanced wireless technologies. The San Diego-based start up is named XCOM.

Joining Jacobs is former Qualcomm President Derek Aberle and ex-Chief Technology Officer Matt Grob.  Grob said the initial focus of XCOM’s research will be new approaches to security, as well as fast, low latency, high reliability wireless systems in which devices can perform their own computing out in the field rather than relying on powerful servers elsewhere to handle processing.

Now almost one year later, Anton Monk,Head of Technology Strategy, Partnerships & Business Development will speak on how XCOM plans to disrupt wireless mobile technology.
